Snowpetals

Growing up in Germany, with family in Canada, I'd often hear my classmates' imaginations of the far off land. The most popular included the idea that Canadians live in igloos. While this is not true, most of the country does experience a long and harsh winter.

Victoria is an extreme exception to this. Mostly it's rainy and cloudy here, but by mid-February we begin to get a sprinkling of warm, sunny days. While the prairies and the East are blanketed with snow, our streets are lined with blooming cherry trees and their off cast petals.
