In the safety zone

Incredibly, there were no other visitors at the feeding station this afternoon and as the wind was blowing straight into the hide we weren't there long either.  Although the sun was shining, the wind was bitterly cold and I'm sure this pheasant was puffed up to twice its normal size to keep warm.  It had chosen good lodgings where it has been well fed and safe throughout the shooting season.
