Wooden Spire!

Sunday 1st March 2015

Today we started planting up our seeds ...... hopefully we will have some shoots coming up soon!

There was a very strong & cold wind blowing ...... so this afternoon we went out for a drive ........ too cold to walk far!!!

This is St Marys Church in Long Sutton.
The pinnacle of the church is the tallest oldest lead-lined wooden spire in Europe making it one of the first examples in action of what would later be a common building technology.
The lead spire in the steeple was previously replaced in the 1860s although graffiti by an enterprising soul not afraid of height remains there from 1841.

(More info if anyone is interested)

Thanks so much for all the lovely comments, stars & heart on yesterday's Moss Ball ...... chuffed that you liked it :-)

Thanks so much for dropping by :-)
