Spring?

This evening winter is reminding us that it still holds sway over spring as a blanket of snow now covers the crocuses in my garden.
In spite of the appearances of spring crocuses it did not feel at all springlike this morning. For much of the year the pigeons in Princes Street Gardens find plenty of food scraps left by the hundreds of people enjoying the gardens during their lunch break.  Instead today they had to forage among the crocuses for seeds or whatever else they could find as it was too cold for anyone to sit and I think there would have been dozens of pigeons round me if I had taken my picnic out of my bag.
