Hung Up To Dry.

These are Kowhaiwhai panels created by 10 year olds.  They are the first part of a mixed media picture about Maori Visual Culture which they will work on for the rest of term.  They had to draw a Koru  (spiral) and then repeat it to form the panel.  In a Wharenui (meeting house) the Kowhaiwhai panels are on the rafters and ridge pole.  They painted their panels this afternoon and we all thought they looked very dramatic hanging to dry.  Happy children and happy teacher.
