Twins

Took the youngest for an interview at Manchester Uni, and spent the day roaming around the centre - really enjoyed it - oh, the friendliness of northerners... and ended up, Hobbit-like, having a second breakfast on the very street where my father-in-law used to work - quite by chance.

Ended up in the Museum of Science and Industry (free entry! ), where we saw this Avro Shackleton AEW.2, built in the same village my husband grew up in (Woodford), and in the same year he was born (1954). It was developed from the Lincoln Bomber, which in turn was developed from the Avro Lancaster Bomber - but the Shackleton was mainly for anti-submarine warfare.
