Wading Bird - species unknown?

Not sure of the species but you see quite a few of these around Gisborne. Anybody want to tell me which species?
This one is at the pond in the Botanical Gardens.  It's not on the scale of Edinburgh but the Gizzy gardens are a beautiful place to spend a couple of hours just wandering around.
