Graduation day in Phrao

In Thailand graduation is kind of a big deal. Today was year 9 and year 11 graduation and 2 of the Warm Heart kids were part of it so we attended to celebrate with them and capture it on film.
 
It's a long and formal affair with a ceremony in the main hall with speeches, awards and singing. Then the fun really starts. The students buy each other gaudy and delightful presents, trinkets, balloons, teddy bears, (you name it) and pile each other up with them as they pass through their fellow students. It's a bit like a popularity contest or Valentines Day at school, where some kids have piles and piles and others not so much. This girl is clearly one of the popular ones! She was leaving a trail of roses and sweets as she walked because she couldn't carry it all!
 
   
All in all a very joyful and fun-filled day. It's great to see how proud and celebratory the pupils are about graduating. It's great incentive to continue with their education and work hard.
