Peek-a-boo

Today was home-cleaning and feeding day for Raoul, my pet corn snake. While I was cleaning out the beech chippings that are his bedding in the vivarium, and doing a nice thorough job of wiping down all the surfaces with special reptile-safe disinfectant, my daughter was acting as temporary climbing frame for a lively snake in exploration mood.

Job done, I returned him to his sparkling fresh vivarium ready for meal time, his once-a-fortnight nosh of one whole mouse, newly thawed from freezer storage.

Raoul is now in his little stone cave, digesting. One very happy snake.
