Sir Nigel Gresley

North Yorkshire Moors Railway, the steam service that runs from my home town of Pickering up to Whitby, is marking the 50th anniversary of the original line closure – although it was reopened by enthusiasts a mere eight years later. There's been special events and commemorative trains running for the last couple of days. This is a close-up of the wheels of 'Sir Nigel Gresley', one of the flagship steam trains on the line.
