Where is all the data??

Knowing that we are dumping data into all our clouds is a little sad.
Will it rain data someday?
What happens to the data on a cloudless day?
Will young people in the future "recall cloud illusions " per Joni Mitchell or just think of bytes when they see clouds?
I think they should leave our clouds alone! :)
