Cameron's arrogance continues to take my breath away. Treading closely on the tails of the unselfconscious defence of corrupt extra incomes for his cronies (indeed demands for more money) we have the fiasco over the debates with Cameron constantly changing his demands, we now have him insisting on one debate with seven party leaders reducing his talking time to ten minutes in total AND it has to be before the campaign proper starts so that he hasn't got to defend a manifesto of actual policies. He won't play the game unless he gets to change all the rules to favour him. While it's true debates only started (after many years of attempts to introduce them) during the last election the fact is they are now an expected feature and, lest we forget, Cameron was one of the most voluble proponents of them. This belief of his that he can impose the conditions on broadcasters and other leaders is just another public display of the arrogance of these people. The world is there for their pleasure and convenience, the ruling class triumphant. They are so self satisfied they've even forgotten their own playbook; when Thatcher came to power (campaigning on the unemployment figures, remember that? "Labour isn't working", shit, the irony) the first thing she did, the very first, was to give the police a 40% pay rise, after that they were hers, ready to be willing foot soldiers in her crushing of the unions and the working class and suppressing civil unrest, and boy did they deliver. This time around they're shafting the police so bad Theresa May gets booed by them and to put icing on the cake they call them "f/&@ing plebs" when they don't open gates for them fast enough. Not only are they ruthless and vicious they're also incompetent (just look at the mess at the DWP), the gang that couldn't shoot straight...and the worst of it is that even now there are large numbers of people in this neck of the woods that will still vote for them.
