A slice of Lesley's life

All in a day's work

Well, it would be if my employment was as a gardener / shed clearer. It's not and so this is my Saturday. You know how it is, you think you'll just tidy the garden a bit and then you need something from the shed and it's hidden at the back so you start moving things to reach it and before you know it the lawn is covered in the entire contents of the shed. 8 hours and one trip to the garden centre later (the exciting trip to the tip will have to wait) and the garden is as near to its best as it is ever likely to be under our erratic care. Having given up on trying to grow plants over this pagoda (two of its struts (?) effectively being goal posts and so not ideal for nurturing growth) I have decided to decorate it instead. Of course, there is every possibility that all I have done is put up shooting targets...

Fortunately, we were up early to see Jackson off on an all day birthday party at an outdoor pursuits centre (he left at 7.30am and is expected back some time around 6pm) so there is time after all those exertions in the sunshine for a little lie down, with the afternoon play, in the shade before welcoming our guests and all heading out to a party.

Tomorrow I shall mainly be sitting down.
