In the clover

Trifolium pratense (red clover) is blooming in the meadows and around the pond. In the Victorian-era Language of Flowers, red clover represents industry. In this neck of the woods, red clover is used as a fodder crop (it's a member of the legume family) and to help fix nitrogen into the soil, but in long-ago times it was said to protect against witchcraft and evil spirits. I suppose that's why there are no evil spirits in our meadows. ;)
