'Surfing Port Fairy'

Backblip.

Today we drove down to Port Campbell and had breakfast at the 'Alcove' and the plan was to go for a hike from our campground to the coast, about a 6km walk each way, but the weather was looking pretty dodgy so we decided to drive down to Port Fairy for the day.

We arrived just before lunchtime and walked around the bursting little town that was hosting the annual Port Fairy Folk Festival this weekend and then sat down for some 'Aussie Chinese food' from a stall set up on the main street in town.

After lunch we walked down the the rocky surf beach and spent an hour or so exploring the rocks and watching the surfers that you see here.

Drove back to Port Campbell and ate fish n chips down alongside the beach, then back for to the campground. MsMun took the kids fishing while I set off the other direction to catch the sunset overlooking the swampland and the windmill. Big mistake, the mosquitoes were in plague proportions and thick in the air, the grass that I had to walk though was up to my chest and there were wombat holes everywhere in the ground that were hidden by the long grass, all that after carefully manoeuvring myself through an electric cattle fence. I only managed to stay there for a couple of minutes before being eaten alive.
