Chinese New Year - The Year of the Sheep

Yu Sheng or Lo Hei is traditionally served on the seventh day of the Chinese New Year .
Each ingredient that is added symbolizes a different wish.
For the fish, for abundance and good fortune or you can also say " long ma jing Shen ", for the health and strength of a dragon or a horse.
As the pepper is sprinkled, the wish is for good luck.
The five spice powder, is for everlasting youth and long life...
The oil is the wish for wealth and prosperity.
The sweet plum sauce is for a year of sweetness and happiness.
The golden crackers is for an abundance of wealth.
Other ingredients:
Pomelo or lime - luck and success in your endeavours.
Carrot - luck
Pickled green radish- everlasting youth
White radish - progress, prosperity in business and professional growth
Peanut crumbs - a house filled with gold and silver
Sesame seeds - prosperity for business
