village activities

There was plenty of activity in Paihia today with a steady stream of groups taking their photo in pyramid formation in front of the historic stone church beside our timeshare.  There is a large NZ Company Conference in town and they had a list of challenges for 'The Great Race'. I think the vertical pyramid looked more of a winner than the horizontal version!  

Then while out biking we found some locals fishing and jumping off the bridge.  Apparently the logic behind this is that the jumpers splashing in the water will chase the fish towards the well baited hooks on the lines that are dangling over the bridge??  But no fish had been caught when we were there!!!
