Loughton Camp

Epping Forest.   This must be the highest part of the forest.  Reached by the Clay Ride, which was cut in the 19th century, to open the forest for building.  The local villagers protested, which was part of the popular movement that led to the forest being protected from such developments.  And we made the most of the fine weather today to enjoy it.
