Spoor of the Bookworm

A huge bee decided to keep Kit company today (I nicked her picture). Like everywhere else we've had a distinct lack of bees in the last few years so it's good to see one so fat and happy.

British politics continue to be disgusting and absurd with Cameron now painting anyone who is pro Scottish independence, and presumably anyone who wants to see the constitutional position of Scotland reformed ( ie. the majority of the Scottish electorate ) as (the new) Enemy Within ! Hours after the referendum result the Tories demonstrated that as far as they were concerned the No vote meant that Scotland, which had been the apple of their eye for months, now had zero leverage and could go....stuff...itself. Now their demonising of the SNP and demands that Miliband guarantees he'll never go into coalition with them, amount to open warfare on anyone with aspirations for constitutional reform (ie the majority of Scots). Gone is all the soft soap and the ridiculous pleading that his "name is Cameron" so obviously he must love Scotland...the first thing that went through my mind when he said that was the fact that I'm a Mackintosh and we fought a blood soaked feud with the Camerons that lasted for centuries....come to think of it it was never fully resolved, perhaps we ought to restart the tradition...

Even worse has been the beginning of noises from both Tory and Labour back benchers about a potential Tory/Labour coalition. Maybe it's their contribution to the 150th anniversary of Alice In Wonderland - Labour going into coalition with the Tories?? We really have gone through the looking glass.
