Ice Dams

They're melting and falling off the roof!  Ice dams form when there is a lot of snow on the roof.  The warm air from the house causes melting close to the roof which refreezes and melts.  Sometimes it seeks out a weak spot and enters the home.  These were about 8 inches thick and came tumbling down today with a loud thud.  Not much is left there now.  For the record, the temperatures reached nearly 60F.  More cool temperatures and maybe even a little snow on the way for the weekend though, but it it's all short-lived at this point.
