Bathroom at Enys

This was a bathroom in the servants quarters of Enys House. The Enys estate near Falmouth has been in the Enys family since the 12th century. The current house is not the original one but it has been empty for many years and is now slowly being renovated and you can see it was once a very attractive building. During the War the Dutch Navy was stationed here and some of the men met and married local women and settled in Cornwall. One of these men was my father in law who went on to have a long and happy marriage.

My daughter will have her wedding reception in the grounds of Enys later in the year it's sad that her Dutch grandfather is not here to celebrate it.
