Peace

Grown by Francis Meilland 1942 the bud wood managed to make it out of Nazi occupied France on the last plane allowed to leave. Meilland's US agent Robert Pyle desribed it as the most beautiful Rose in the world. It was named after the worlds greatest desire Peace. On the very morning of its naming ceremony, Berlin fell to the Allies and the War in Europe ended. (Roses. A practical guide to over 300 Roses for Australia and New Zealand. Roger Mann). This is my Rose that was being choked by the Daisy bush I cleared on Friday. Peace has large lovely pink and yelow flowers.
