Flower Friday :: Amaryllis

You'd think I'd notice something like this growing in my kitchen-diner but the truth is last week it was only a bulb stuck in a pot amongst a very crowned bookcase. 

During the week it has sprung up and bloomed within the drooping leaves of a Peace Lilly above it. It appears to be happy as Larry where it is.

This image is straight from the camera, no cropping, processing in or post camera. I did dabble but couldn't make it look any better. 

The setting up of the shot is too farcical to mention here but did involve a dog haired covered black fleece, a tool box on wheels, a tripod with one leg in the dog's water bowl and table lamp on the floor.
