Open Water

Cold but beautiful morning at Balsam Branch doing just about every yard of trail. Warmer weather is headed our way, so who know, this might be the last ski of the season. We noticed a family of trumpeter swans on the way out, taking advantage of the open water in this little river. Lo and behold, they were still there when we returned 2 and a half hours later. It must be hard being a swan when all of the lakes are frozen. It's hard being me sometimes too - my arms are aching from all that pushing up hill.
