Fish/salamander?

I thought this was a salamander to begin with, but once I zoomed in on him realised there were no back legs. It was quite happy zooming around on top of the mud, yet he looks very fish like. I have no idea what he is!

I also didn't spot the crab doing the photo bombing in the bottom until I uploaded the picture onto my iPad, he was that well camouflaged!
