The Land's Gaze

We spent the day on the beach at Durdle Door and there was loads to photograph, so it was a bit hard to decide on a blip.

Well, I've been reading a lot about how we perceive things and the importance of lines, textures and contrasts and as I looked at the chalk cliffs I was quite taken by the complexity of shape and pattern in the rock surface as the sun moved across it.

This section of cliff seemed to be looking back and so, after a bit of a spodish mexican stand off, ... I took the picture.
