Erinn Letts Photos

Magic Kingdom

When our plans changed, we had to change had to change our fast passes for the Disneyworld as well.  Unfortunately because we did it so late, we could only get fast passes for evening hours.  We weren't too keen on waiting until 11 p.m. to meet a princess, so we decided to get up early and wait in line.  Vacation is exhausting, so Owen and Jim decided to sleep in, take the shuttle and meet us later.

Once you enter the grounds of Disneyworld, you are directed to a parking spot in a far off lot.  Then a tram drives you to a gate.  At the gate you are directed to a lightrail or a ferry.  We were herded toward a ferry.  Once you get off the fairy, you can go through the official gates and security.  All of this took 45 minutes.  Once inside, we didn't even stop to get a photo in front of the castle.  Ya-ya and I took Mia straight to the princess line.  Bumpa headed towards the roller coasters with Evan.

The sign said it would be a 2 hour wait to meet Elsa and Anna.  We conferred with each other and with Mia and decided to go for it.  Luckily it was only an hour and a half.  You might be thinking we are crazy right now, but this is where I finally began to believe in the magic of Disney.  That wait was totally worth it.  Elsa greeted Mia with a, "Why hello Princess!"  and taught her how to swing her cape around and walk in her long dress.  They posed for photos like true queens.  And Anna... there are no words.  She was bubbly and talkative.  She made Mia feel like they were true friends.  Though the experience may have only lasted 10 minutes, it is something I think she will never forget.

When we exited the princess hall, Ya-ya took Mia on the carousel while I fixed our fast passes.  Jim and Owen arrived at that time.  When Mia saw them, her face lit up like she was completely surprised that they were there.  We continued the day doing with rides.  Some were short and fast, others were slow and intriguing.  A favorite for most of us was the Haunted House.  We ended the day with the lighted parade, the light show on Cinderella's palace and fireworks.

Mia was exhausted.  She fell asleep on my back as we filed back to the ferry.  The rest of us had to keep our eyes open all the way back to Kissimmee.  We are all a little thankful that tomorrow will be rainy and we are doing nothing but resting and packing.
