Club work

Members duty (but usually also good fun) to help getting things ready for the start of the new rowing season. Our task this morning was to prepare the oars, i.e. mainly to replace the old, used up rubber grips with new ones. The easy part is to cut the old grip away with a Stanley knife. The more difficult part is to put the new grip on, as the fit is extremely tight. Our preferred method is with the help of compressed air, creating an air cushion. Here our first attempt, still a bit too bulbous.
