Romanes eunt domus

Walked a chunk of the Fosse Way. Twenty four species of birds on rather a murky morning, but by far the highlight was a huge mixed flock of Fieldfares, Redwings and Starlings – hundreds of birds. Very flighty though, couldn’t get closer than a couple hundred metres. But this dull, distant shot was good, because Fieldfares have been my bogey species this winter, and this was my first confirmed sighting.
And yes, the sketch was recited as we tramped the Fosse Way.
