70 Years Ago Today

Katharina Westrich died 70 years ago today, on March 14, 1945 - in the last months of WWII. The plaque reads:
Here died Katharina
Westrich in an air attack on her way to
peaceful field work. 1926-1945
Since I was a child I was asking questions about her - because of this memorial plaque at the main entrance of the cemetery, where she died.

Not too long ago there was something about the air attack the day of her death in the newspaper and here is what happened that day in the English translation.

70 years later, after I did my blip today, I visited my 82-year-old mom. She still remembers Katharina very well, she said. She had very long black braided hair. She was walking the cows to the fields.
