This is London calling

"Driving" Course

Finally out of the classroom but still not yet out on road. Looks like getting a LGV (lorry) licence required to drive london ambulances will take up to 6 months! So the powers that be have decided to get us familiar with their little fast cars and London roads so be can be useful members of LAS society in the meantime. Today we drove down to Rye for lunch and managed to convince our driving instructor, the wonderful Bill, to stop and see some sights on the way. This is Pevensey Castle built within old roman fortifications and where William the Conquerer camped before defeating Harrold! They also built some pillboxes into the ruins during the first and second world wars for lookout points across the English channel - some much history! Whilst I can't wait to get on to some Blue Light driving, it's quite nice pottering around the English countryside with whoever isn't driving looking up interesting facts about the area.
