The Reform Club, 104 Pall Mall

Met a colleague here.  The Reform Club was founded in 1836, in the centre of what is often called London’s Clubland.  The architect, Charles Barry, was commissioned to build an imposing and palatial clubhouse and it is as splendid.

What appealed to me was that on entering I was politely requested to leave my phone, briefcase and papers at the Porter’s Desk.  I hope that is one tradition they do not reform!
