It's a Geeks Life

Dark Day - Let's hope not!

I woke this morning to see more news about blip.  Let's hope that Joe & co are OK? I know we are all concerned about our journals and what will happen, but my first thoughts were for Joe, it's his baby and life's work. The rest of the Team too, may have lost jobs and income, that is far more important.

The Blipfoto Friends group on FB is worth joining, not only can we all keep in touch, there is news and wise advice worth reading.  Plus at least 2 or three tools have been written to help back up journals.

My personal thoughts after chatting with others is:
1. Let's sit it out for a few more days, there is bound to be legal stuff going on and Joe cannot post anything at this point.  He or Polaroid will say something as soon as they can.
2. Speculating is just scaremongering and doing no good (and scaring folk).
3. Positive love and feedback on how good blip is will only do good things both for Joe & Co, but also for any possible buyer (if it has come to that).
4. Back up your work using the tools provided by generous blippers (Thanks, you know how you are!)
5. Ensure you make your contact details known so we can keep strong (if the site is turned off)
6. I have joined 365project.org as a back up, but it's not the same as Blip!  Geekmeek is myusername of course.
There is also a Flickr Group we had as an over spill when Blipfolio disappeared.
The FB group mentioned above is worth joining
Finally my email is cherylmeek@me.com
