Otter

We were so lucky with the weather again today. Brilliant sunshine and warmth with not a breathe of wind. A really cold start though with a thick frost and temperatures down in to at -1.9 degrees when I got up.
We went down to North Kessock and spent sometime watching the otters playing, swimming and fishing. Such fun to watch but a bit too far out for a close up !
We walked along the path where a wonderful Camellia filled a wall of one of the houses with a mass of pink blooms. Birds sang, three woodpeckers were squabbling loudly. Two Red Kites flew above the pine trees, looking wonderful against the blue sky.
Two horses were tucking into their hay as curlews cried an alarm on the beach.
Several yachts sailed past. When the tide was out the water was flat calm, just a few ripples from a bird or the otters.
After lunch I went for a walk with Richard. This time to Avoch. Another great walk with yellow hammers, chaffinch and the first of the skylarks singing overhead.
Richard is now making a roast of lamb with roast potatoes, carrots and peas. It smells delicious.
David has been at work all day so have nt seen him much. Hope it was nt too busy !
