Wood's adventures

its Mother's day

I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. Over commercial - yes. Nothing to do with Mothering Sunday and returning to the mother church - yes. Hideously painful if you want to be a mother but aren't, have lost your mother, have lost a child, didn't have a mother who did what you needed - definitely.

But all the same, a pause, a celebration for mothers and mothering. An undervalued art and skill if ever there was one. And I don't think there is a lot wrong with that.
