Rusty rivets.....

A slow day today. Everything fed and bagged up a batch of sheep feeding.Started the new pile of propcorn treated barley for the cattle as well. Was busy taking the plastic sheet off when out popped a half grown rat ! Haven't seen many going about, but this one legged it before I could clobber it. Kept Sam and Patch amused for a good half hour trying to figure out where it was.
Mrs Farmerboab and kids off to meet my favourite Mother in Law at Dobbies as it's Mothers Day.
Took a walk with the dogs to see if any more of the grass fields were dry enough to get some slurry or fert on this week.If it doedn't rain, might do by Wednesday.
This riveted piece of steel used to be part of the old Shank railway bridge where it crossed the A7 at Gorebridge. When they dismantled it in the 1970s,we bought a few sections to make bridges over burns in fields. Now 40 odd years later they have built a far uglier and  far more expensive concrete one on the same spot as part of the new Borders Railway which is opening in September.
