Mothering Sunday

Once again, a service for Mothering Sunday was held in our village hall this morning. The delicious smell of bacon wafted out of the door as we arrived, and we joined others for bacon baps, coffee, fruit juice, toast...........the Sunday papers were on offer, but most people were just chatting as they enjoyed their breakfast!
A short, informal service began at 11 o'clock. The young children were delighted to present their mothers with a pot of these colourful flowers, and the service ended with a lovely trombone solo, accompanied on the piano by our organist.
I didn't actually see my children, and yet we did see each other and had a delightful chat on FaceTime. The grandchildren in Cheshire showed me some of their toys, and the two in London had been busy baking biscuits and home-made pasta!
Very cold here today, so the gardening plans were postponed !
