Rural Aberdeen

Today was a glorious March day. We were orienteering at Aboyne, (I was surprisingly competent for a change), and came back over the Cairn o' Mount to Fettercairn. Last year there were large snow banks by the road, but this year none at all. The blip epitomises March in rural Aberdeenshire. The hill is Clachnaben with its granite tor. On the flanks there is some muirburn, so common in an attempt to re-invigorate the heather, and standing proud on the low ground a fine bull (sadly not an Aberdeen Angus).
