Into the Woods

I went in to what I suppose I should now call my former place of work this morning, in order to collect the last of my personal possessions, mainly the paintings and drawings that I had hung on the walls as a way of making the space more 'personal'.

There I met a couple of my erstwhile colleagues, who were tremendously supportive, as well as being utterly shocked and bewildered by what had happened to me still less than one week ago.

Afterwards I took a scenic route home, stopping to take this photograph where the road runs alongside a narrow strip of woodland just south of Chapel of Garioch (stopping in the same layby from which I took the picture of the bonfire at Whitecross I blipped here just over a week ago).

This is basically the view in the opposite direction, looking into the woods that run alongside the road, into the fields beyond.

I had one of may favourite 'specialist' lenses on the front of my K-3 today - a Russian (post-Soviet) Helios 77M-4 dating from 1992: I find this whole family of lenses to be superb at capturing the subtle shades of green as well as the overall mood of a soft, dreich day like today here in the North East.
