Mirror on the world

Many places with wonderful ceilings provide mirrors to allow you to admire the splendor without getting a crick in the neck.  Salisbury Catherdral has something similar in its wonderful cruciform font.

Although not shown here, water flows continuously from out of each of the four points of the cross - yet there is not a ripple on its surface. The engineering required to achieve this is to be greatly admired.

The font was designed by the British water sculptor William Pye.  It was installed in September 2008 and dedicated by the Archbishop of Canterbury during the celebration of the 750th anniversary of the consecration of the Cathedral.
