Saw This Today

Flutterby

I have nothing but admiration for the people who can capture crisp, close-up shots of butterflies (and other insects). I chased this guy around a small garden for about 10 minutes and watched him leaving a flower just as I focused but before I could snap.
(And don't talk to me about bees, hyperactive lunatics that they are, how do they have that much energy if they never settle to eat anything?)
I think this is a holly blue (it finally landed long enough for me to get a couple of shots). It seems to have a notch taken out of it's hind wings, close call with a bird? Might explain the reluctance to settle for any amount of time.
