Hue is the site of the tombs if Vietnamese kings so that this mornings destination.

Our first visit was to the tomb of Tu Doc. It is one of the largest and was designed by the King himself. It was said he spent more time at the site of the tomb than he did attending to business in the Imperial City. He said himself that he was a better poet than he was a leader and few disagreed. Our guide also told us he wasn't a very good poet either.

But his tomb is very grand and set in a substantial park. The solemnity of the place was broken by the excited chatter of a large School party. They shouted 'hello' as they passed us and cackled further when we replied. Made us laughtvtpo. They had no cares on the world.
