Forest.

One of those days today where the sun was so hot that the roads were sticky with melted tarmac, the parks were full of laughter and BBQ smoke and the pollen fell in clouds from the trees behind A's house in Inchmarlo. I've actually never seen pollen like it; settling on books, sunglasses and cutlery within minutes. By mid-afternoon, you could write messages on the tent that was set up to shade little Fin from the sun.

I spent the morning tidying the flat, but was on the bus to Banchory by 12pm and getting stuck into the BBQ at A's house soon after. She had her brother, his partner and her sister, as well as some old Uni friends round, and we spent a lovely afternoon sitting in the sun chatting and watching Mum and Dad oystercatcher feed their babies on the apex of A's roof.

Sadly, A's rabbit Bella went missing on Thursday, so I went for a root about in the woods behind the house to see if I could locate her. Unfortunately I didn't see any telltale flashes of black and white, but the sun was just beginning to drop behind the treeline and the scene was just beautiful. The dogs enjoyed cooling off in the stream too!

Later on, A decided to cut her grass. If you would like to recreate the scene, you will need:
- 2 girls (both old enough to know better), one petrol-fired lawnmower.
- some swearing.
- a LOT of laughing.
- more swearing.
- yelps and squeals of excitement as, 20 minutes on, we finally got the thing running!

Even though the garden is HUUUGE, we did the whole thing in a one-er because we were too scared to let the thing die on us! I cooked some baked mushrooms with leeks and asparagus for tea (A's recipe; lovely) and we had a nice catch-up on the sofa while half-watching Eurovision.
