Adieu.

It was hard to photograph this fallen giant. A centuries old oak tree that was so huge it was not possible to get a good view of it from where it lay in its (almost) final resting place. All you can see here are some of its upper-most branches that brought down the telephone cables as it made its way across the road and all the way to the edge of our garden. Thankfully, no pedestrians, cyclists, or vehicles were caught underneath.

It came down with such a thud and crash that I thought a car or bus had crashed into our garden.

We later realized that it came down with such force that some of the smaller chunks of tree were propelled, like small missiles, all the way to where II'd been practicing archery the day before.
