Old Shielhill Bridge

Built 1769, disused 1977 after the bypass bridge was build in 1973.

Had a great day out today with the rest of Family P visiting my friend Graham and his wife Audrey at their house estate up in the Angus Glen.

Their house is lovely, right in the middle of nowhere with a little stream running through the beautiful back garden and a nice country pub next door, where we went for a lovely dinner later on.

Audrey is a good cook and made a very tasty Victoria Sponge & some rock cakes. Spent a lazy afternoon sitting in the garden having some wine (1 small glass for me as i had to drive back 6 hour later), eating cake, chatting and just chilling whilst the kids played with their big black lab.

Pesky would love a dog, which was evident today when she barely left Dukes side. They all ended up wading down the stream on an adventure, with Duke tagging along with his stuffed rabbit firmly in his mouth. They appeared at least half a hour later slightly wet and with one ear missing off the rabbit.

If only we didn't have to work and the weather stayed as good as this....

Didn't take my camera out once today, so had to stop en-route home and take a shot of this.

Now back home having a bottle of Dark Island and one of Audreys cakes (we swapped some Mrs P baked this morning for some of Audreys). Good supper and end to the day if you ask me!
