Northern tip of New Zealand

We drove up to Cape Reinga (not quite the northernmost part of the country, but only a few miles off). It is a sacred area for the Maoris and there are some lovely coastal walks.

We stood by the lighthouse and watched the meeting of the oceans - Pacific Ocean and Abel Tasman Sea. The horizon seems to stretch to infinity - as you can see from the signpost we are a long way from anywhere, and especially a long way from home!
