The cloud watchers....

.... on The Stray in Harrogate this morning. Some had brought a rug and picnic breakfast.

On my way to a dental appointment, I went over to photograph one of the groups of people staring into the very overcast sky. Nothing to see at 09:29 when the bottom picture was taken..

Almost exactly five minutes later, a gap appeared in the cloud cover and we were rewarded with the sight of the partial solar eclipse in progress surrounded by a much darker sky, Well worth the short wait.
