All About The UK

Today I went on a day trip to the Isle of Man (as you do).

I was on a geocaching trip with my friend Paul and we flew out on the 8:40 flight and returned at 18:50. We had a few caches we specifically wanted to find including a cache called All About The UK. To get the final co-ordinates for this you have to get four pieces of information from caches in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. To make it even harder the information moves from cache to cache in the form of Travel Bugs so its not easy and very few people have completed it.

In fact, despite picking up the information in Wales around 7 years ago, I was never going to bother with it until last year when we accidentally found the Northern Ireland information on another of our days out. From there we managed to get the information from Scotland and England.

Anyway, we had a great day out and found 21 caches including all the ones we wanted to get. We only caught a glimpse of the  eclipse in a couple of gaps in the cloud and we were driving anyway.

The All About The UK cache is hidden around Snaefell and it was a tough walk. Unfortunately it was enveloped in cloud, it was cold and there was a strong wind but we had no problem finding it. The picture shows Paul with the cache.

Things I learnt today - It's much better in the executive lounge at Manchester Airport and there are white mountain hares on the Isle of Man.

Thanks for the comments and stars yesterday. Its been a long day today and it will be another long one tomorrow so I will catch up on the eclipse photos as soon as I get the chance.
