FIRST EVER BLUEBIRD IMAGES

Nmbr-1 checked four of our six bluebird boxes. He discovered one with an expectant family and one with a nest in progress.

Wanting a photo, I decided to act quickly. Usually we see them fly into the nest and poof, they're gone.

Tabasco dog kept me company as I photographed from a cluster of trees. Hand holding my long lens was tough because 30 mph winds are whipping through here. And forget about bracing the lens against a tree. They were literally shaking to their roots.

Happily, I captured both parents in this frame.
