Stand up to Racism and Fascism 2015

The second annual march and rally in London calling for each of us to stand up to racism and fascism.  Attended by many, many thousands of people.

Similar marches and rallies are taking place in other parts of the UK and overseas.

It seemed slightly bigger than last year and one difference was that there was a small counter-demonstration of about a dozen or so so-called 'patriots' who were accompanied by about 20-30 photographers and about 100 or so police who encircled these knuckle-dragging oiks.  I mention this because if you look at the full set of my photos from today you will see about a dozen photos of the counter demonstration.

Also in the album are some photos of some people who have occupied one of the empty buildings in the heart of London.  They are aptly referring to themselves as 'The Ghost of Brian Haw', an anti-war protester who camped out in Parliament Square for thirteen years until shortly before he died a few years ago.

It's been an interesting, exhilarating day.
